There were a couple of ideas that my group discussed doing before we decided on doing Skinny Genes. For example, we considered the song You Need Me Man I Don't Need You, by Ed Sheeran:
We thought that there would be lots of visual elements in the lyrics that we could use for our ideas, and we thought we could do a performance based video, but we realised that the singer is male, so of course we would need a male to lip sync and perform the song, which could be a problem because it's hard to rely on people who aren't in our group.
Another song we considered was Lights by Ellie Goulding:
However, all the ideas we had for the song were things like light shows, and other things that would be difficult to do with no budget and no good location, although we thought that the song would be a good one to get ideas from, because there are lots of things you can do with it.
In the end, however, we decided on Skinny Genes by Eliza Doolittle, and are planning to use elements for example spelling lyrics out with scrabble pieces and using graffiti backdrops in London. We're not completely sure of the total concept yet, but we'll present our proper ideas in our treatment.
